It is focused on promoting the implementation of 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, notably goal 11.
The awardees come from different parts of the world. Mr. Ramon Asprer, head of the city’s Housing, Community Development and Resettlement Department (HCDRD) accompanied the mayor to receive the award.
Since the start of Mayor Bautista’s administration, the development of the city’s socialized housing program has been its priority program. The program provides an integrated approach to the problem of informal settlers, with components to mitigate disaster risk, reduce urban blight and improved the people’s quality of life.
The program also provides a comprehensive solution to address problems such as the lack of affordable housing for the poor, financing schemes, and lack of amenities in relocation areas.
The program received recognition from both local and international bodies and has been replicated by other local government units (LGUs) in the country.
