The Quezon City Government, under Mayor Herbert M. Bautista, ends 2018 with multiple awards and other forms of recognition. The mayor considers these as continuing challenges, because the benchmarks are raised each year and the competition is more stringent. But the end goals are policies and programs that are more responsive to Quezon City’s evolving needs, from security and safety, to basic social needs.
Quezon City was awarded the Best Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council among Highly Urbanized cities of the country in the recent 20th Gawad Kalasag National Awards held at AFP Theater, Camp Aguinaldo, on December 4, 2018.
The Quezon City Government, under the administration of Mayor Herbert M. Bautista received its second Seal of Good Local Governance, the DILG's measure of integrity and good performance for local governments.
Quezon City was among the 263 local governments that received the Seal this year.

Bautista recently received the Global Human Settlement Model of Community Award for the QC government’s Bistekville Socialized Housing Program during the 2018 Annual Session of Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS 2018), held in 30-31 October 2018 at the United Nations Conference Center, Bangkok, Thailand.
