OFFICE HOURS FOR RECEIVING APPLICATIONS

Monday-Friday (except official holidays)

8:00 am to 5:00 pm (no noon break) 

 

A. HOW TO APPLY FOR BUILDING PERMIT (Including Sanitary, Mechanical and Accessory Permits)
 

FOR ON-TIME RELEASE OF YOUR NEEDED PERMITS (15 days after application submission), MAKE SURE THAT ALL DOCUMENTS IN YOUR CHECKLIST ARE CORRECTLY PREPARED AND COMPLETE. 


1.   Get your application form and checklist of requirements from INFORMATION WINDOW.
2.   Submit the duly accomplished form with all the needed documents (based on the checklist) at RECEIVING WINDOWS.
3.   Your submitted documents will be evaluated for completeness and you will be asked to wait. Get your queue number from WINDOW 3. Wait for your number to be called. If you do not respond when your number is called, you will miss your turn and the next number will be called. There are no backtracking of numbers. If you are a senior citizen, a person with disability or a pregnant woman, go to the COURTESY LANE / WINDOW 5 and submit your documents.
4.   When your number is called, go to the designated window. If your documents are complete and correctly filled up, you will be given an acknowledgement receipt. If not, your documents will be returned for completion.
HOW TO FOLLOW UP THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION
You can check the status of your application through landline phone number 988-4242 local 8907 or through SMS - texting (numbers and text format are written on your acknowledgement slip),

Or you may visit us after 10 working days:
5.    Get your queue number from WINDOW 3.

6.    When your number is called, go to WINDOW 1 (Public Assistance and Complaints Desk) and present you acknowledgement receipt. Then information staff will tell you:

    a.  If you can now PAY the corresponding fees:

         i.       Get the Order of Payment from WINDOW 9.

         ii.       Pay at the Cashier, City Treasurer's Office, ground floor, Annex Building. Get official receipt.

         iii.      Submit your Official Receipt to WINDOW 9, Department of Building Official. Wait for the validation of your receipt.

         iv.      Once validated, permit will be released after 5 working days.

    b.  if your documents are for compliance:

         i.       Go to WINDOW 7 where the releasing staff will return all documents to you.

         ii.      Bring your documents to and consult with your engineers / architect on record for the necessary corrections as stated on the evaluation sheets.

    c.  Once corrected, submit all returned documents at WINDOW 7. Wait for your number to be called and you will be advised on your next steps. Once your corrected/completed documents are Officially Acknowledged, go back to step 5.

 

HOW TO GET YOUR RELEASED PERMIT AND APPROVED PLANS

7.    Present your validated receipt and notarized authorization letter, if representative, at WINDOW 10 and get your queue number.

8.    Once your number is called, you will receive your Approved Permits and Approved Plans.


B. FOR GREEN BUILDING APPLICATIONS ONLY

Proceed with the steps on 'HOW TO APPLY FOR BUILDING PERMIT' except:

 

    3. 

  • Go to the GREEN LANE / WINDOW 6 and submit your duly accomplished application form with all the mandatory requirements.

Proceed with the steps on 'HOW TO FOLLOW UP...' except:

    5.

         c.  Once corrected, submit all returned documents at WINDOW 1 with the corresponding letter-request for re-evaluation.

              Note: For clarification/verification, you may request for a Design Coordination Meeting with the Local Building Official by submitting a letter-request at WINDOW 1. A reference number will be issued to you. Follow up your request, using the reference number, through the telephone number written on your receiving copy.

    6.  Go back to Step 5 onwards.


 C. FOR FAST-TRACK APPLICATIONS ONLY

(As per Office Order No. 25, Series of 2007)

The Fast-track Building Permit application process applies only to:

  • Applications for single-detached residential structures with a total floor area of 300.00 sq. m. and smaller and with a lot area of 300.00 sq. m. and smaller.
  • Applications for commercial Stalls with total floor area of 300. sq. m. and smaller, which are inside existing shopping malls. For such applications, submit the Certificate of Occupancy of the shopping mall / base building. Restaurants are not included in the fast-track classification.

  • Proceed with the steps on 'HOW TO APPLY FOR BUILDING PERMIT' except:

     4.

          a.  If your documents are complete and correctly filled out, you will be given an Order of Payment.

               i.      Get the Order of Payment from WINDOW 9, Department of Building Official.

               ii.      Pay at the Cashier, City Treasurer's Office, ground floor, Annex Building. Get official receipt.

               iii.     Submit your Official Receipt to WINDOW 9, Department of Building Official. Wait for the validation of your receipt.

               iv.     You will be given a Notice to Proceed (NTP) with the Construction and an acknowledgement receipt.

          b.  if not, your documents will be returned for completion.

 

HOW TO FOLLOW UP THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION

You can check the status of your applicaiton through landline phone number 988-4242 local 8907 or through SMS - texting (numbers and text format are written on your acknowledgement slip),

Proceed with teh steps on 'HOW TO FOLLOW UP...' except:

     5.

           a.  If your application is compliant with the NBC, permit will be released after 5 working days. 

 

Proceed with the steps on 'HOW TO GET YOUR RELEASED PERMIT AND APPROVED PLANS'.

 

D. HOW TO APPLY FOR ELECTRICAL PERMIT and CERTIFICATE of ELECTRICAL INSPECTION

FOR ON-TIME RELEASE OF YOUR NEEDED PERMITS (10 days after application submission), MAKE SURE THAT ALL DOCUMENTS IN YOUR CHECKLIST ARE CORRECTLY PREPARED AND COMPLETE.

 

Proceed with the steps on 'HOW TO APPLY FOR BUILDING PERMIT; except:

 

     3. 

  • If you are a senior citizen, a person with disability or a pregnant woman, go to the ELECTRICAL PERMIT LANE / WINDOW 3 and submit your documents.
  •      4.   When your number is called, go to WINDOW 3. If your documents are complete and correctly filled out, your application will be received.
  •      5.   After 3 working days follow up your application:
  •            5.1     if compliant, get the Order of Payment from WINDOW 8.
  •                     a.     Pay at the Cashier, City Treasurer's Office, ground floor, Annex Building. Get official receipt.
  •                     b.     Submit your Official Receipt to WINDOW 8, Department of Building Official. Claim your Electric (Wiring) Permit.
  •                     c.     If non-compliant, get the advice of action at WINDOW 8 for the necessary correction.


HOW TO FOLLOW UP THE STATUS OF YOUR CERTIFICATE of ELECTRICAL INSPECTION
(CEI)

You can check the status of your CEI through landline phone number: 988-4242 local 8907.

 

     6.   Or you may visit us after 7 working days. Get your queue number at WINDOW 3:

                    a.     If the electrical installation is found to be compliant, claim your Certificate of Electrical Inspection at WINDOW 8.

                    b.     If your electrical installation is for correction, go to WINDOW 8, an advice of action will be given to you. Consult with your electrical engineers / practitioners on record for the necessary corrections.

     7.   Once the advice of action is complied, request for re-inspection at WINDOW 8 and go back to "HOW TO FOLLOW UP...".

 

Proceed with the step on 'HOW TO GET YOUR RELEASED PERMIT AND APPROVED PLANS'.
