|Quezon City Government Turns over New Patrol Cars, Equipment to QCPD|
March 10, 2017 – The Quezon City Government turned over new patrol cars and equipment to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) last March 7, Tuesday, as part of the local government’s efforts to boost the law enforcement capabilities of the city police. Mayor Herbert M. Bautista led the simple ceremony for the turnover of 50 new patrol cars and 23 bullet proof vests to PC Supt Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, District Director of the QCPD at Camp Karingal. The 23 bullet proof vests were an initial part of the 536 units that will be delivered later.
In his message, Mayor Bautista announced that the city will replace all rundown and inoperative vehicles of QCPD as he asked the QCPD to make an inventory and submit the list to him.
P/CSupt. Eleazar said that the new vehicles and equipment will surely bolster the QCPD’s patrol capability, increase police visibility, and enhance their efforts to keep the city safe and secure.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PDG Ronald dela Rosa was guest of honor and speaker during the occasion. National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Police Director Oscar Albayalde, also attended the event.
The city government also plans to give 500 Glock 9mm pistols, 150 units of 155cc motorcycles, and 2,000 pairs of handcuffs to the QCPD as part of the 2017 procurement program of the city.
