Quezon City Awards 7 Barangays with Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping

April 3, 2017 (Monday) - Mayor Herbert Bautista, together with Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, awarded 7 QC Barangays with the Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping this morning after the flag ceremony at QC City Hall.  Mayor Bautista accorded 3 awards to the 7 barangays as recognition of their commitment in ensuring the pillars of good governance – transparency, accountability and participation.

Mayor Bautista awarded the Dangal ng Lungsod Award to Barangay Greater Lagro and Barangay Holy Spirit.  The Dangal ng Lungsod is the highest level of the Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping as recognition of the barangay.  The two barangays.  received a rating of 81% from the review of the technical working committee charged with the criteria for the recognition.

QC also awarded four (4) barangays  with the Huwarang Pamamahala Award.  Mayor Bautista accorded Barangay Damar, Barangay San Bartolome, Barangay UP Campus, and Rolando Quitorio of Brgy. Barangay Sangandaan with the Huwarang Pamamahala.  The Huwarang Pamamahala is the second level of the Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping, with the four brgys. receiving a rating of 80% from the review committee.

The six 6) barangays were able to fulfill the requirements of the assessment areas set by the Technical Working Group of the Quezon City Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping (QCBSGH) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-QC).

In addition to the Barangay. Seal of Good Housekeeping, four barangays were also awarded with the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award during the ceremony.  Barangay San Bartolome (as 1st Place),  Barangay Central Barangay UP Campus (a tie at 2nd Place),  and Barangay Commonwealth (3rd Place).  The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award was established based on Section 406(b) of the Local Government Code of 1991 mandating DILG to grant economic and other incentives to the Lupong Tagapamayapa for their outstanding contribution to attain the objectives of Katarungang Pambarangay.
