Ipinamalas ng mga QCitizen designer ang kanilang galing at talento sa paggawa at pagdidisenyo ng mga fashionable na damit sa 2025 Retashow: QC’s Catwalk to Sustainability sa Gateway Mall sa Araneta City, Cubao. ✨

Anim ang nagwagi sa sustainable fashion show, kung saan ibinida nila ang kanilang eco-friendly children’s wear designs na hango sa mga retaso o patapong textile materials.

Kabilang sa mga nagwagi at nakatanggap ng P50,000 cash prize sina:

– Nard Patrick Redoble ng Barangay Commonwealth

– Nichole Samson ng Barangay Apolonio Samson

– Katherine Mae Anonuevo ng Barangay Sikatuna Village

– Ma. Joy Pauline Castillano ng Barangay Talipapa

– Hazel Manuel Roldan ng Barangay Batasan Hills

– Neil Bryan Capistrano ng Barangay Bagong Pagasa

Bilang proud outfit repeater, binigyang-diin ni Mayor Joy Belmonte ang kahalagahan ng pagre-repurpose ng mga damit na nakakabawas sa textile pollution at kabuuang dami ng basura na nakokolekta sa lungsod.

Nagsimula noong 2024, ang Retashow: QC’s Catwalk to Sustainability ay isa sa mga hakbang ng lungsod para mabawasan ang textile waste, maisulong ag circular fashion, at mapalakas ang community-based advocacy para sa mas luntian at environment-friendly na kinabukasan.

Kasama ring nakisaya sa Retashow sina Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) Head Andrea Villaroman, QC Public Library (QCPL) Head Mariza Chico, QC Tourism Department (QCTD) Acting Chief Operations Officer Giana Barata, Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO) Head Mona Yap, Education Affairs Unit Head Maricris Veloso, Araneta City SVP for Leasing Lorna Fabian, District 3 Action Officer Atty. Tommy De Castro, at QC Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Coun. Sami Neri.
