Lagi’t laging para sa bata, para sa bayan! 👧🏻👦🏼🌟

Muling pinagtibay ng Quezon City Government ang adbokasiya ng lungsod para isulong ang karapatan at protektahan ang mga kabataan laban sa pang-aabuso at pananamantala.

Sa kanyang ikapitong State of the City’s Children Report, ibinahagi ni Mayor Joy Belmonte ang mga programa ng lokal na pamahalaan sa pagsisiguro ng kapakanan ng mga kabataang QCitizen, partikular sa aspeto ng survival, development, protection, at participation.

Kabilang dito ang pagpapalakas ng Quezon City Children’s Code, paglalaan ng sapat na pondo para sa mga programang pang kabataan, at pagpapalawig ng scholarship at educational assistance programs.

Binanggit din ang mas maayos at mas komprehensibong unified referral system, QC SAFE program, safer internet access, at Bullying and Anti-Discrimination Campaign sa mga paaralan.

Kinilala naman ang Barangay Commonwealth bilang Most Child-Friendly Barangay, na sinundan ng Barangay Sauyo at Barangay Culiat.

Para mas mahikayat ang iba pang komunidad na makibahagi sa adhikain ng lungsod, pormal na ring inilunsad ang Most Child Friendly Public School Award, Most Healthy Public School Canteen Award, at Seal of Excellence in School Governance.

Daan-daang kabataan, guro, magulang, government officials, at non-government organizations ang dumalo sa 7th SOCCR. Kasama na rito sina National Authority for Child Care Usec. Janella Estrada, mga kinatawan ng Council for Welfare of Children, DILG-QC Director Manny Borromeo, at mga konsehal ng QC.

Ang SOCCR ay bahagi ng selebrasyon ng lungsod sa National Children’s Month, na may temang “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban”
