The Quezon City Government has become a leading choice for senior high school and college students for their on-the-job training (OJT), thanks to the Quezon City Internship Program launched in 2022.

Since its inception, QCIP has attracted 1,950 student applicants, underscoring the city’s growing reputation as a dynamic training ground for future professionals.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte expressed pride in the city’s growing reputation as a host for OJT of students. “This is a clear sign that this generation considers public service as a meaningful career path—one where they can make a difference. It’s evident that the values of leadership and service are alive and well in our youth,” Belmonte said.

“We see this as a great opportunity, as every student who eventually chooses public service contributes to our mission of promoting good governance,” she added.

The most number of interns come from Quezon City University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Carlos P. Romulo Senior High School, National University-Fairview, and Lucrecia R. Kasilag Senior High School.

Among all city departments, the Quezon City Public Library has hosted the highest number of interns, with 325. It was followed by the Human Resource Management Department, the Department of Engineering, the Parks Development and Administration Department, and the Quezon City Tourism Department.

“We are hopeful that, through the Quezon City Internship Program, the students are equipped with the right knowledge and tools which they can use in whatever path they choose to pursue in the future,” the mayor stated.

With its impressive implementation of the internship program, the Quezon City Government also received various recognitions and acknowledgments from educational institutions, including National University-Fairview, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Saint Pedro Poveda College, and Lucrecia R. Kasilag Senior High School.
