Amid the rise in COVID-19 cases, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has reminded QCitizens to practice minimum health protocols as she issued the latest guidelines for Alert Level 3 in Quezon City.
“We call on our QCitizens to strictly follow minimum health protocols, especially now that we have the Omicron variant in our midst,” said Belmonte, who issued the guidelines dated January 3, 2022 after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) placed the National Capital Region under Alert Level 3.
“Don’t leave anything to chance. We must prioritize our health before anything else so we must obey existing health protocols to be on the safe side,” she added, saying wearing of face masks and social distancing must always be practiced.
Under the latest guidelines, mobility of unvaccinated individuals will be restricted, except when obtaining essential goods and services, such as buying food/medicine, medical appointments, vaccination, passport appointments and other appointments for government services.
They will also be allowed to go out when necessary for work in a permitted business or for individual outdoor exercise.
As for the fully vaccinated, regardless of age, they can leave home even for non-essential reasons such as dining, shopping, and entering cinemas, provided they can present their vaccine card and valid ID prior to entry into the concerned establishment.
While capacity of establishments is reduced to 30 percent indoor and 60 percent outdoor, Belmonte said the total capacity will reach 60 percent indoor and 80 percent outdoor when the 20 percent bonus for reaching the vaccination target and a 10 percent bonus for having a Safety Seal are added.
Operation of funfairs, peryas and kid amusement industries, such as computer/gaming arcades, playgrounds, playroom, and kiddie rides, and venues with live voice or wind-instrument performers and audiences such as in videoke/karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls, and theaters, is not allowed.
Venues for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), cinema and movie houses, venues for social events, tourist attractions can operate, subject to the use of the KyusiPasss contact tracing app and adherence to appropriate capacity for indoor and outdoor venues.
Belmonte also ordered the City Law and Order Cluster to strictly enforce disciplinary hours for minors under Ordinance No. SP-2301 s. 2014, where minors are prohibited from loitering in public places from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
