The Quezon City government has received awards from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for providing exemplary service to businesses in the city through efficient and convenient processes.
The Department of Trade and Industry presented the 1st Overall Most Competitive City recognition to the QC Government under the Highly Urbanized City category for attaining the following awards: 1st Place as Most Competitive in Innovation; 2nd Place as Most Competitive in Economic Dynamism; 2nd Place as Most Competitive in Government Efficiency; 2nd Place as Most Competitive in Infrastructure; and 2nd Place as Most Competitive in Resiliency.
Vice Mayor Gian Sotto together with City Business Permits and Licensing Department head Ma. Margarita Santos, and City Planning and Development Office head Arch. Pedro Rodriguez accepted the awards on behalf of the city government during the 2022 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index Awarding Ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center.
On the other hand, the city government received a special citation from PCCI as one of the 2022 Most Business Friendly LGUs in the country during the 48th Philippine Business Conference held at the Manila Hotel.
“The awards given to us are a testament to our vision of providing honest and transparent governance by eliminating red-tape and improving our services to our QCitizens,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
“We believe that being considered as ‘a highly competitive city’ will attract more investors, make businesses prosper and create more job opportunities for a stronger and better economy,” Vice Mayor Gian Sotto added.
BPLD head Santos expressed her gratitude to PCCI and DTI for these recognitions: “We would like to thank the PCCI and DTI for the awards. We consider them as our partners in providing our businesses and investors quality service. QC is open for business and we wish to assure the private sector that we will work even harder to further improve our processes and finetune our systems to give QCitizens the best government service there is,” Santos added.
