In the past, the vast area was occupied by modern-day Barangay Bahay Toro was composed of cultivated fields, providing rice for the farmers who lived there. They maintained horned carabaos (water buffaloes) and cows known as toro. In time, the area became known as the home of the toros, and during the liberation, people began to settle permanently in the area again, shortening the name to Bahay Toro.
