ISA PANG PAGKILALA KAY MAYOR JOY! 🏆

Iginawad kay Mayor Joy Belmonte ang “Gawad Tanggol Karapatan” Award ng Commission of Human Rights (CHR) dahil sa kanyang mga inklusibong programa para sa mga kababaihan, kabataan, rainbow community, senior citizens, at persons with disability sa Lungsod Quezon.

Ang award na ito ng CHR ay bahagi ng kanilang Gawad Karapatang Pantao na nagbibigay-pagkilala sa opisyal o tauhan ng gobyerno na nagsusulong ng mga programa at proyekto upang protektahan ang mga karapatang pantao.

Ayon sa CHR, bilang human rights champion, isinusulong ni Mayor Joy ang mga programa gaya ng proteksyon sa mga kababaihan at kabataan, gender-fairness sa QC, at economic empowerment ng mga vulnerable sectors.

Ilan din sa mga programang pinakikinabangan ng mga QCitizens ang QC Protection Center, Bahay Kanlungan, Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI), Right to Care Card, No Women Left Behind, at ang QC Social Hygiene and Sundown Clinics.

Tinanggap ni Committee on Human Rights Chairperson, Councilor Wency Lagumbay ang award bilang kinatawan ni Mayor Joy sa idinaos na Culmination Night of the 2023 National Human Rights Consciousness Week ng CHR.

Nakatanggap din ng award sina Dingalan, Aurora Mayor Shierwin Taay ng Gawad Bantay Karapatan, Baguio City Councilor Arthur Allad-Iw ng Gawad Bantay Karapatan, at Gawad Sulong Karapatan naman ang nakuha ni Tuguegarao City Councilor Mary Martin-Chan.

Dumalo sa programa sina CHR Chair Atty. Richard Palpal-Latoc, Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights Senior Human Rights Advisor Signe Poulsen, at CHR Commissioner Beda Epres, at Commissioner Monina Zenarosa.
