In the distant past, Barangay St. Peter was a rice field and classified as agricultural land. At that time, the place was inhabited by only 2 families, and while their houses were very far apart they still called themselves neighbors. When people grew in number, they constructed a make-shift chapel where they could honor God and practice their Catholic faith. Pedro Medalla, who was a prominent resident of the community, donated the image of St. Peter to the chapel.
