Quezon City further explores other possible programs and projects in collaboration with Airbnb, a platform where travellers can book short-term rentals, during their visit in the company’s headquarters in Singapore.
Mayor Joy Belmonte led the team’s visit on Monday, and was warmly welcomed by Airbnb Head of Public Policy, Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong & Taiwan Ms. Mich Goh.
In January, the city government has partnered with Airbnb and SPARK! Philippines to provide entrepreneurship training to QCitizen women.
The participants underwent weeks of skills training that are required in tourism-related businesses, including customer service, communication, cultural sensitivity, hospitality, and business etiquette that will open various job opportunities and foster a supportive network within the industry.
Along with Mayor Belmonte are Local Economic Investment and Promotions Office (LEIPO) Chief Jay Gatmaitan and Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) Education Division Chief Lea Siy Gaon. They are currently in Singapore to attend the World Cities Summit from June 2 to June 4.
