For five years in a row, the Quezon City Government has earned the Unmodified Opinion– the highest audit rating issued by the Commission on Audit (COA) towards the agencies within its jurisdiction that have been determined to have accurate and complete financial statements produced, in all important aspects, in full compliance with the relevant financial reporting system.
The recognition affirms the local government’s steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible financial management, which also solidifies its reputation as one of the most financially well-managed local government units in the country.
Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG)
Given to local government units as an incentive and honor, the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) was granted to Quezon City Government for the LGU’s best practices in the following categories: transparency and accountability in the allocation of public funds; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and the arts; and youth development.
This incentive challenges local governments, including the QCG, to maintain high governance standards while providing better public services.
Seal of Good Education Governance (SGEG)
Weaving initiatives that champion quality education for all, the Quezon City Government has been awarded the Seal of Good Education Governance (SGEG) from the Synergeia Foundation, in partnership with Metro Pacific Investments, Meralco, and mWell.
SGEG is awarded to local government units (LGUs) that have demonstrated exceptional efforts in implementing literacy programs and practicing good governance in education reform, ensuring all children have equal access to educational opportunities.
This award establishes the city’s reputation as a leader in advancing quality education in the Philippines, where no student is left behind.
From 2023-2024, the Quezon City Government has been recognized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) as the Most Business-Friendly, due to its dedication to developing initiatives and policies that promote a business-friendly environment driven by innovation and growth, which inspires investors and entrepreneurs
The back-to-back recognition as the Most Business-Friendly local government unit (LGU) Award-City Level 1A under the Highly Urbanized City category is a clear testimony of the city government’s unwavering support and guarantee of growth for all enterprises in the city
Overall Most Competitive Local Government Unit
For four consecutive years, the Quezon City Government has been honored as the Overall Most Competitive Local Government Unit under the Highly Urbanized Category from the Creative Cities and Municipalities Congress administered by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) awards LGUs based on actual data, which includes benchmarking and checking upon the five competitiveness pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation.
The Quezon City Government was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019.
