In 1974, the term “barrio” was changed to barangay by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 557, the very same time the name Bagumbuhay was given to what is now called Barangay Bagumbuhay, headed by Captain Julio Dizon.
After the term of President Corazon Aquino and during the regular election held, Mr. Danilo Villamor was elected as Barangay Bagumbuhay’s first Barangay Chairman.
