The name of Barangay Duyan-Duyan was taken from the subdivision of People’s Homesite and Housing Corporation (PHHC) now known as the National Housing Authority (NHA). This subdivision is bounded by Molave, Aurora Boulevard and Anonas Street.
In 1953 in a beautycontest was held where each street was represented by its candidate.
However, the candidates refused to be known as Miss Sapsap, Kanduli, Tipalia, Dalag, Hito and other fish names. So they changed the names and adaptedthe names of Philippine trees like Narra, Molave, Anonas, and Ipil.
The first barangay chairman was Jesus Daquis.
