Need to Know: During the Liberation Period, Barangay Escopa was a barrio named Lata. This was changed into ISCOPA, meaning 1st Signal Corps of the Philippine Army, before finally becoming “Escopa”.

Barangay Escopa III was created on June 25, 1975 under Executive Order No. 29 (PD No. 26 and 210), with two land residential areas within its territorial jurisdiction, the Escopa III Proper and the PUD Site.
On January 10, 1979 a compromised agreement was entered into for the sale and transfer of PSBA (portion area only) to the Quezon City Government. The area is now called Planned Unit Development (P.U.D.) Site, Barangay Escopa III, Project 4, Quezon City.
