Formerly Barrio Malamig, Sta. Teresita was created and renamed on June 25, 1975 by virtue of an Executive Order No. 22 pursuant to PD’s 86 and 210. The first known Barangay Captain was Felixberto R. del Rosario who was appointed by then Mayor Norberto S. Amoranto.
Barangay Sta. Teresita celebrates its feast day on the nearest Sunday to October 3. Its Patroness saint is St. Therese of the Child Jesus. The QCitizens of the barangay are peace-loving, kind, generous, hospitable and religious. Various church organizations are very active and serve the people from all walks of life.
