Quezon City Calorie Labeling Policy Press Conference

Simula December 2025, magkakaroon na ng calorie count sa mga menu ng restaurants at fastfood (na may higit limang branches) sa Quezon City!

Pirmado na ang implementing rules and regulations (IRR) ng Quezon City Calorie Labeling Policy na nagre-require sa mga food establishment na ipaskil ang calorie label ng bawat food item sa kanilang menu.

Ngayong umaga, ipinaliwanag ng lokal na pamahalaan kung bakit mahalaga ang polisiya para sa mga mamamayan, mga negosyo, at sa buong komunidad.

Magsisimula ang Phase 1 ng ordinansa sa December 21, 2025, na susundan ng Phase 2 (restaurants with two or more branches) sa December 21, 2026, at Phase 3 (all restaurants except BMBEs and MSMEs) sa December 21, 2027.

Handa ring magbigay ng suporta ang lungsod sa mga negosyo na sakop ng ordinansa, tulad ng trainings at capacity building activities. Kikilalanin din ang mga establisyimentong boluntaryong nagdi-display ng calorie count sa kanilang menu.

Naroon sa press conference sina Mayor Joy Belmonte, Coun. Dorothy Delarmente, Coun. Irene Belmonte, Coun. Aly Medalla, Coun. Bernard Herrera, Coun. Ram Medalla, Imagine Law Executive Director Atty. Sophia San Luis, at mga mga department head.

Ang Quezon City Calorie Labeling Policy ay binuo sa pakikipagtulungan sa ImagineLaw at Partnership for Healthy Cities (na sinusuportahan ng Bloomberg Philanthropies, Vital Strategies, at World Health Organization (WHO)).
