Quezon City has been recognized by CDP, a non-profit organization, as one of the top cities in the world that develops effective and inclusive climate action, despite global economic challenges.

Mayor Joy Belmonte personally received the recognition, during the awarding ceremony in Singapore on Tuesday night.

From 900 cities, QC emerged as one of the 119 “A-list” cities in climate initiatives based on environmental data disclosed to CDP-ICLEI.

Quezon City makes sure that policies and programs relating to climate are crafted carefully to ensure that they are sustainable and inclusive, and responds to the needs of the residents.

Mayor Joy is currently in Singapore to attend the World Cities Summit. She is accompanied by Local Economic Investment and Promotions Office (LEIPO) Chief Jay Gatmaitan and Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) Education Division Chief Lea Siy Gaon.
