Description

Kabahagi Center for Children with Disabilities (KABAHAGI) promotes the rights of Children with Disabilities who are aged younger than 18 years old and residing in Quezon City with their families, to achieve their holistic and inclusive development through their participation in projects that are responsive to their needs in the areas of education, health, livelihood, social empowerment.

Mission

To recognize the rights of all children through its commitment to improving their quality of life through community empowerment, provision of services, and creation of equal access to health, education, livelihood, and social opportunities.

Vision

Kabahagi envisions a city that is inclusive, sustainable, empowering, and participatory where Persons with Disabilities have equal access to opportunities, rights, and privileges.

Legal Bases

  • Section 6 (8) of Ordinance No. SP-1915, S-2009 (The Special Children’s Ordinance of Quezon City) which states that the City shall provide easy access to educational and rehabilitation services to special children and their families;
  • Section 17 of Ordinance No. SP-2180, S-2012, as amended (The Quezon City Children’s Code of 2012) which states that the Quezon City Government shall provide an integrated health service for children with disabilities which shall include early detection of disability and timely intervention;
  • Quezon City Ordinance No. SP-2617, S-2017, as amended by City Ordinance No. SP-2718, S-2018 – An Ordinance Institutionalizing A Comprehensive Program for Children with Disabilities (CWDs), Thereby Establishing A Center and Providing Funds Thereof and for Other Purposes.

  • We shall provide quality and prompt delivery of service specific to the disability needs of the children. 
  • We shall ensure that qualified staff is available to provide supportive services. 
  • We shall strengthen our advocacy efforts towards the development of policies and practices that are for and by the Children with Disability and their families. 
  • We are dedicated to forging partnerships with relevant stakeholders that embrace the same thrust for inclusive development.

Services


Disability Assessment and Diagnosis

Free check-ups from Specialized Doctors (Developmental Pediatrician and Rehabilitation Physician) to diagnose the children’s condition based on age and development.

Telecoaching Therapy Program  

Therapists (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and  Speech-Language Pathology) use various methods to train the parents or primary caregivers of children with disability. This is initiated with free individualized assessment, followed by training of parents on strategies for child handling in 10 sessions, along with the Child with Disability.  This way, parents or primary caregivers can sustain the application of these strategies at home.

Inclusive Arts for Children with Disability (CWDs)

Free Art Class to develop children’s skills and talent in art and boost their confidence in expressing their feelings in a creative way.

Livelihood Program for the family of Children with Disability 

Free vocational skills training like dressmaking, hilot wellness, pastry making, bread making, investment capacity building, and other livelihood programs.   

Free Group Training and Seminars for families, teachers of the Children with Disability, together with other disability-inclusive stakeholders in the City like Barangay Council for the Protection of Children

How to apply for all individual Services in QC Kabahagi Center for Children with Disabilities (Disability Assessment, Telecoaching and Inclusive Arts)

Requirements:

  1. QCitizen ID (Parents and CWD)
  2. Original Copy of Barangay Certificate of Indigency (Medical Assistance)
  3. (1) 2×2 ID photo
  4. Completed and Signed the QC Kabahagi Center Application Form
  5. Doctor`s Assessment (at least 6 months) (Optional)

Steps:

Process for the Online Application for all individual QC Kabahagi Services

  1. Register for the QCitizen ID at http://qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph/
  2. Go to the quezoncity.gov.ph website or the official Facebook page of Kabahagi Center. 
  3. Download and fill-up the QC Kabahagi Center Application Form and scan or take a  photo of the requirements and send it to [email protected].
  4. You will receive a message in (1) hour regarding the status of your application.
  5. If the application is approved, you will receive a message for your appointment based on the needed services.

 Process for the Offline/Walk-in Application for all individual QC Kabahagi Services

  1. Get and fill up the QC ID Application form and QC Kabahagi Center Application form at the QC Kabahagi Center office and submit the other requirements.
  2. If the application is approved, you will receive a message for your appointment based on the needed services.
