The Quezon City Youth Development Office pursuant to Ordinance No. SP-2803, series of 2018, was designed to promote the right to quality education at all levels by enhancing and extending the education opportunities and financial assistance to poor but deserving students from indigent families in Quezon City. Also, to strengthen, expand and sustain all the existing services, programs and interventions for the City Youth that will formulate and implement effective programs and services attuned to the issues and concerns of the sector.

Vision

QCYDO envisions a city which is modernized and progressive wherein the interests of the youth have primary importance i the development of the City. A City wherein youth are empowered and educated.

Mission

  1. To help the City government in addressing and minimizing the problem of out-of school youth. QCYDO shall spearhead the promotion and implementation of Quezon City Scholarship Program that will provide better services especially to the deserving students among the economically disadvantaged families.
  2. QCYDO shall pursue youth empowerment through leadership skills training and livelihood programs.
  3. Organize the youth into a broader network in order to promote active participation in governance.

Objectives

  1. To open opportunities to quality education.
  2. To minimize the number of displaced youth in the city.
  3. To upgrade literacy of the residents.
  4. To promote activities for youth development such as trainings, seminars and projects; and
  5. To attain the objective of the QC Government in promoting the advancement of Science and Technology.

SYDP Mandated Functions:

  •         Open the opportunities to quality education.
  •         Minimize the number of displaced youth in the City.
  •         Upgrade the literacy of the City residents.
  •         Promote activities for youth development such as trainings,projects and seminars.
  •         To attain the objective of the Quezon City Government in promoting the advancement of Science and Technology.

Guidelines for awarding of Scholarships (revised 2011)

How to Withdraw / Cancel Scholarship?

Scholars who would like to request for the cancellation/withdrawal of scholarship and will no longer avail the City Scholarship services must inform the office.

Requirements:

  1. Personal Letter with Parent/Guardian Signature
  2. Photocopy of Parent/Guardian valid ID Card
  3. Accomplished Scholarship Cancellation/Withdrawal Form (2 copies) (downloadable)*

Process:

(On-site)

  1. Secure and Fill out cancellation/withdrawal form.
  2. Submit complete documents.
  3. Sign the logbook.
  4. Undergo an interview.
  5. Wait to receive copy of the cancellation/withdrawal form with result.

(Online)

  1. Send requirements via email : qcydowithdrawal@gmail.com
  2. Undergo a phone interview.
  3. Wait for the status/result thru email.

Processing Time:

On-site – 35 minutes Online –  3 days

How to file Scholarship Leave of Absence (LOA)?

Scholars who would like to request a leave of absence in the scholarship for a one or more semester must inform the office. Scholars must also declare the anticipated semester of their return in the scholarship.

Requirements:

  1. Personal Letter with Parent/Guardian Signature
  2. Photocopy of Parent/Guardian valid ID Card
  3. Accomplished Leave of Absence Form (2 copies) (downloadable)*

Process:

  1. Secure and Fill out LOA form.
  2. Submit complete documents.
  3. Sign the logbook.
  4. Undergo an interview.
  5. Wait to receive copy of the LOA form with result.

  3. Wait for the status/result thru email.

How to Renew Scholarship?

Scholars shall renew availment of the scholarship every semester semester until he/she has completed the degree.

Requirements:

  1. Accomplished Scholarship Renewal Form (downloadable)*
  2. Accomplished Semesteral Monitoring Form (downloadable)*
  3. Copy of Previous Certificate of Registration (Registration Form)
  4. Copy of Previous Certificate of Scholarship;
  5. Copy of Grades / Grade Slip from the previous semester
  6. Feedback form (downloadable)*

Additional Requirements if Scholar-Graduate:

  1. Resume / Curriculum Vitae
  2. Accomplished Alumni Profile Form (downloadable)*
  3. Accomplished Career Exit Form (downloadable)*
  4. Softcopy of Graduation Picture

Process:

(On-site)

  1. Secure and fill-out renewal & semestral monitoring form.
  2. Submit complete renewal requirements.
  3. Undergo a semestral interview.
  4. Secure Certificate of Scholarship.*
  5. Sign logbooks.
  6. Drop the filled-out feedback form to the designated box.

*Scholar-Graduates will not receive Certificate of Scholarship
