SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?
To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must be a Quezon City resident and enrolled, registered, or accepted in a recognized educational institution at the time of application and must not be a scholar of another local government unit.
How to apply for a scholarship from QCYDO?
To qualify as a scholar, the applicant must register on the QC eServices website and have a registered and verified QCitizen ID. Provide all necessary information and upload a copy of the requirements for the category of your choice, as listed on the QC Scholars’ Guide.
What if I don’t have a QCitizen ID or my QCitizen ID’s approval is still pending, can I still apply for a scholarship?
To apply for the scholarship, you need to be a Quezon City resident with an approved and verified QCitizen ID.
In submitting an electronic copy of the QC ID, make sure the validity year is visible. You may check the status of your QCitizen ID through the QCID Query Portal. For any concern regarding QCitizen ID, please send an email to helpdesk@quezoncity.gov.ph, qcidteam@quezoncity.gov.ph or contact them at QC Helpline 122.
I am not from QC, but I am enrolled in a school within QC. Am I eligible to apply for a scholarship?
To be eligible, the applicant must reside in Quezon City.
I am from QC but my school/university is outside QC. Am I eligible to apply for a scholarship?
Yes, you are eligible to apply for the Quezon City Scholarship Program provided that you meet the qualifications in your chosen scholarship category.
I am a graduate of a public/private high school in our province and currently residing in Quezon City. Am I qualified to apply for a scholarship?
Yes, you are qualified. The classification of your scholarship sub-category will be subject to the deliberation of the SSC (Scholarship Selection Committee).
I am a part of the Sangguniang Kabataan Council but my position is only appointed, can I apply for a scholarship?
Yes, you are eligible to apply for the Youth Leaders scholarship if you are currently holding a position as a Sangguniang Kabataan/Supreme Student Council member or serving as president/vice president (or its equivalent) in a youth organization registered in Quezon City.
Can I apply for more than one scholarship category/subcategory?
The applicant must choose only one scholarship subcategory, even if he/she is qualified in two or more subcategories.
I am currently the president of a QC-based youth organization. Can I apply for a scholarship even if my organization is not registered in the city?
No. Based on the Scholarship Guidelines, the youth/youth-serving organization must be registered with the QCYDO to qualify for the Youth Leader Scholarship. The QCYDO has a list of registered youth/youth-serving organizations in the city and a directory of officers and members.
What is the difference between the number of units currently enrolled and the number of units completed?
The number of units currently enrolled is the total number of units that a scholar is currently taking for the semester. This is based on the most recent registration form provided by the school, college, or university. On the other hand, the number of units completed is the total number of units that a scholar took from 1st year to the previous semester/term.
How will I know the status of my scholarship application? Will I receive a call, text message, or email from QCYDO?
Every time the submitted requirements are validated, the scholar applicant will receive an auto-generated email from the QC eServices Team, and he/she can view the status of the scholarship through the scholarship dashboard. The scholar should always check the email inbox, spam, and promotions and the QC-eServices Dashboard for updates on the status of his/her scholarship applications.
I have received my Certificate of Scholarship, what step do I need to take next?
The scholar who is currently enrolled in any SUC (State University/College) must download the Certificate of Scholarship to process his/her scholarship grant. However, the scholar who is currently enrolled in a PUC must download the Certificate of Scholarship and submit the official statement of account from the institution for the scholarship grant.
SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL
When should I renew my scholarship?
Scholarship renewal is done before or after the school enrollment for the current semester. An announcement of scholarship renewal will be posted through our official Facebook page, and an email will also be sent to your active email address.
The renewal schedule is posted but I haven’t been able to receive my scholarship grant in the previous semester, can I still proceed to renew for the current semester?
Yes, you must still renew the current semester while waiting for your scholarship grant in the previous semester to continue to receive your scholarship grant.
Can I apply without an official registration form? What can I submit instead?
Yes, you may renew through the QC E-Services portal once it is open. We will temporarily accept any proof of enrollment such as an enrollment receipt, proof of acceptance, an unofficial registration form/pre-assessment form, a class schedule, a school calendar, or announcements from your school regarding your enrollment schedule. Please remember that you will still need to submit your official registration form once you have enrolled.
What should I do to upgrade my scholarship subcategory from Economic to Academic Scholarship?
You may file an appeal to change your scholarship subcategory, provided that you meet all the qualifications of the new subcategory. Please note that all subcategory change requests are subject to evaluation and approval.
What are the reasons why a scholar would be required to submit an appeal form and what will be the process of filing?
Filing an appeal is only applicable for the scholars who failed to meet the qualifications for their category and subcategory. This is also the way for the YDO to assess the scholar’s current academic welfare. You may download and upload it through the QC E-Services portal should your validator require you to submit any requirement.
I am planning to shift to another course, will it affect my scholarship?
Shifting to another course is allowed. However, the number of years/terms covered by the scholarship based on the scholar’s first scholarship application will be retained.
I am not planning to enroll next semester/school year due to various reasons. What should I do to keep my scholarship and still receive my grants once I enroll next semester/school year?
The scholar who will not enroll for one or two semesters will have to secure an approved Leave of Absence from the school or Notice of Non-enrollment and submit it to QCYDOSubmission@quezoncity.gov.ph.
What should I do if I don’t want to be a beneficiary of the QC Scholarship Program anymore?
The scholar who want to withdraw the scholarship is required to submit a personal letter addressed to the Quezon City Youth Development Office through the Youth Welfare Program & Operations Division.
SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
How will I get an update regarding my tuition fee and stipend/allowance?
The scholar will be notified via email about the status of the grants. Therefore, the scholar must regularly check his/her active email address to see the updates sent by the QCYDO. The scholar may also inquire about the status of the grant by sending an email to admin.qcydo@quezoncity.gov.ph or calling 8988 4242 loc. 8707.
How can I protect myself from scammers?
Never share your OTP with anyone. The QCYDO will never ask for your One-Time Password.
How often will the scholarship grant be released?
The scholar who successfully renews his/her scholarship every semester shall receive the scholarship grant twice in each academic year.
My tuition fee is already paid, how will the QC Local Government pay for my grant?
The QCYDO will directly coordinate with the scholar to confirm the scholar’s active use of the Maya account, and the scholarship grant will be directly disbursed through the scholar’s Maya account.
Will I be able to get the excess from my grant if my tuition is lower compared to the scholarship grant that is stated in my certificate of scholarship?
The grant stated in the Certificate of Scholarship is the maximum amount that the scholar can receive. The tuition indicated in the statement of account will be the reference for transparency.
