Need to Know: Inscribed on the Wall of Remembrance are the names of those who died during Martial Law. The museum contains stories from before Martial Law until the time it was lifted. It also has a Yuchengco Auditorium that shows audio-visual presentations of the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation programs. The 2-story building has a collection of photographs, objects and newspaper clippings, magazines, books and documents regarding martial law and its victims of the abuses during the Martial Law.
The Bantayog ng mga Bayani Center, established in 2007, is a monument, museum, library, and hall that honors all of those who struggled against the 1972 martial law regime.
The 35-foot “Inang Bayan” Monument, sculpted by Eduardo Castrillo, depicts a woman reaching out to the sky for freedom, holding the body of a fallen young man. The grounds of the Bantayong ng mga Bayani were designed by National Artist for Landscape Architecture Idelfonso P. Santos Jr.
The Monument and Wall of Remembrance were unveiled on November 30, 1992.
