The QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office (SBCDPO), in partnership with SPARK! Philippines, and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State has launched the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE).
The program provides support to Women in Especially Difficult Situations (WEDS), which includes victims and survivors of sexual and physical violence, illegal recruitment, sexual exploitation and trafficking, armed conflict, former and current women in detention, among others.
AWE aims to equip women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and access to different networks that will help them in promoting and growing their businesses. After attending the said program, they are also expected to be able to lead and mentor their fellow women business owners.
The program continues in batches that undergo virtual and in-person training and seminars for 3 months.
