As part of the City Mayor’s 14-point agenda, accreditation is a step to encourage QCitizens in participating and crafting programs that would address their needs. Also through this, monitoring and evaluation of programs would be beneficial to the City.
Accreditation is joining people’s participation, and grant of official recognition to a Civil Society which was able to comply/meet the minimum requirements prescribed by the accrediting body/city council. After having been accredited, such organizational representatives may have the chance to join and participate in the various Local Special Bodies.
A total of 2,232 civil society organizations (CSOs) were accredited during the first term of the City Mayor. Currently, a total of 5,350 CSOs are accredited by the City. It should be noted that the accreditation is co-terminus.
