The Quezon City Government, led by the Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), has launched the ALERT QC, which stands for Awareness, Lifesaving, Emergency Response Training, that aims to increase disaster preparedness and create a disaster-ready workplace.
Under the program, participants from various businesses, including business leaders, safety officers, and staff responders, undergo a 3-day training to enhance their earthquake preparedness, fire safety, emergency response, and first aid skills.
Apart from building stronger and safer communities, ALERT QC also assists the organizations in assessing and improving their overall resilience, evaluated by the BE RICHER (Resilient, Inclusive, Climate-conscious, Healthy, Emergency-ready, and Responsive) Scorecard.
This initiative is part of the city’s commitment to fostering a safe, proactive, and emergency and disaster prepared community.
