The Quezon City local government, through the Parks Development and Administration Department (PDAD), has started the rehabilitation of Balara Filters Park as part of its goal to provide a greener, pet- friendly and more open space for every QCitizen to enjoy. This transformation aims to provide every QCitizen a place to relax and have fun with their family and friends.
Listed below are the areas that underwent rehabilitation and restoration:
- Picnic Grove – more plants chairs, newly painted picnic tables and benches were provided
- Comfort rooms and PWD ramps were repaired.
- Dog Park for fur pets.
New additions in the park:
- Firehouse structure to serve as the park’s registration and information booth.
- Water stations for the visitors.
Future areas to be renovated and added:
- Windmill Park
- A. Gideon Playground
- Grotto
- Balara Swimming Pool
- Pedro Tobias Park
- Pavilion
- Tower to display Balara History.
- Skating Park
Balara Filters Park was established in 1953, making it one of the oldest recreational parks in Quezon City.
