The Quezon City Government, through the City Planning and Development Department (CPDD), has launched the Betty Go-Belmonte Research Grant Program, which provides funding for research studies that generate evidence-based insights, recommendations, and outputs aligned with the city’s needs and 14-point agenda.
Under the program, approved applicants may receive a research grant of up to ₱100,000 and qualify for up to ₱20,000 in additional expense assistance—such as for books, research materials, printing, reproduction, and transportation—subject to program guidelines.
The support may also include access to relevant City Government offices, officials, personnel, and barangays, as well as assistance in arranging opportunities for them to present their completed studies to the public.
Aiming to empower and contribute to the city’s holistic and sustainable development, the research grant is open to the following applicants:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate Filipino residents and/or learners enrolled in a higher education institution in QC.
- Filipino academic professionals teaching or serving as faculty members of a QC-based higher education institution.
Applications may be submitted individually or as a team, provided that the principal proponent or designated project leader meets all eligibility requirements.
Interested applicants may submit their requirements through the Betty Go-Belmonte Research Grants module on the QC e-Services Portal (https://qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph).
Apart from honoring the late journalist and newspaper publisher Billie Mary “Betty” Go-Belmonte, this initiative also reflects the city’s commitment to developing responsive, evidence-informed solutions.
