The Quezon City Government, led by the QC Gender and Development Council (GAD), has introduced the Cycle to End Violence Against Women (VAW), which aims to educate the public on the importance of protecting women’s rights by providing action and solutions to stop all kinds of gender-based violence.
Under the program, the local government holds a bike ride event where they also distribute bikes to women participants, including mothers and victims of violence and abuse. The bikes provided may assist the beneficiaries in their livelihood and daily activities, while promoting a greener future.
This initiative is part of the city’s campaign to end violence against women and boost environmental protection efforts through eco-friendly transportation.
From 2022 to 2025, the program has a total of 2,400 women bike recipients.
