The Quezon City Government, through the QC Traffic and Transport Management Department (QC TTMD), has rolled out electric QCity buses to roam around the city, offering free rides as part of their steadfast commitment to building a green, livable, and sustainable city.
With the conversion to electric vehicles, the city government aims to reduce 30% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and improve the air quality in Quezon City by minimizing the black carbon emissions in the transportation sector by 25%.
The electric buses were built with a 41-seat capacity and enough space to accommodate a limited number of standing passengers. The floors are lower than the usual transportation, with wheelchair ramps and designated areas for PWD passengers. Each e-bus is also equipped with handrails, fire suppression, emergency equipment, CCTV cameras, and a smart TV.
TTMD enforcers continuously supervise the on-ground operations to ensure the safety of all passengers.
This initiative conforms to Republic Act No. 11697, also known as the “Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act or EVIDA Law.”
As of May 2026, the city has 16 electric buses: 8 serving Route 1 from QC Hall to Cubao and 8 covering Route 6 from QC Hall to Gilmore via Tomas Morato.
To find out the nearest city bus stop in your area, you may check out Q City Bus Routes or watch the QCity Bus Interchangeable Routes video guide.
