The Quezon City Government, through the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO), has launched the iRISE-UP program, which stands for Intelligent, Resilient, and Integrated Systems for the Urban Population.
It is a real-time monitoring system that enables the city government to track potential incoming calamities by utilizing data from various early warning devices and on-the-ground field equipment. With this, they are capable of preparing for these calamities and responding accordingly to keep the citizens safe from danger.
In 2023, the iRISE-UP system was recognized in the Galing Pook Awards
As of June 2025, the city government has upgraded its system with the newly turned-over Automated Weather Station (AWS), which allows the iRISE-UP system to generate more accurate data, particularly on rainfall, heat index, and wind speed in QC.
