The Quezon City Government, through the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO), has initiated a fundraising activity through Kilo/s Kyusi: Kilo Store ng Bayan, which sells pre-loved clothes, shoes, and accessories by the kilo.
The program has been institutionalized as a city program to generate funds for the city’s Learning Recovery Program, which aims to support various tutoring programs, including the Zero Illiteracy Program.
With Kilo/s Kyusi, the city government accepts donations and sells them to QCitizens. Proceeds are then forwarded to the city’s Learning Recovery Trust Fund, which helps in overcoming learning loss.
A permanent store located at QC Hall Park and Lagoon inside the Quezon City Hall Compound, has also been built for donors and buyers to showcase the best clothes Kilo/s Kyusi has to offer. The store is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
As of October 2025, the hub has accumulated 6 tons of clothes, generating a total of 2.4 million sales.
This initiative is part of the city’s commitment to reducing textile waste.
