The local government of Quezon City and the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) have joined forces to further strengthen the campaign against cancer through the official launch of “ACT NOW: 30-Day Screening to Treatment” program.
Following the said program, the participating QCitizens will undergo the 30 days intensified system and process which involves early screening to referral until the beginning of the patient’s medication.
Apart from promoting the importance of early detection, “ACT NOW: 30-day screening to treatment” program also aims to provide more accessible cancer screening, and treatment services to QCitizens. This initiative was conducted to make sure that every QCitizen diagnosed with cancer will receive the right care and treatment to prevent the disease from worsening.
In order to achieve their goal of ensuring early detection and building stronger referral systems, they also established the ACT NOW Cancer Control Ambassadors for Hope which will serve as community focal persons that will assist in handling cancer care resources.
PCS mobile clinic is set to roam the city to provide services along with the free breast, cervix and lung cancer screening services available in the city’s health centers.
