The Quezon City Government, led by the Public Employment Service Office (QC PESO), has launched the QC Comprehensive Assistance, Reintegration, and Empowerment Savings (QC CARES) project, the first city-supported cooperative serving returning OFWs and domestic workers (kasambahays).
Funded by the Mayor’s Migration Council’s Global Cities Fund through Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, the QC CARES aims to support QCitizen families, boost the city’s workforce, and create a more inclusive economy for migrants, refugees, and their community.
The program encompasses livelihood, social protection, and economic mobility, offering participants the following:
- Access to savings & credit schemes
- Training and skills development
- Job-matching services
This initiative is part of the city’s commitment to safe, dignified, and sustainable reintegration.
Quezon City is one of the six cities that have been granted the 2025 Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees.
