The Quezon City Government, through its Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (QC CCESD), has launched the QC Circularity Hub located inside the QC Hall Compound.
The QC Circularity Hub features four of the city’s circular economy programs that QCitizens may check out.
- Kilo/s Kyusi: Kilo Store ng Bayan of the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (QC SBCDPO)
A store where QCitizens may donate and shop pre-loved clothes, shoes, and accessories, generating funds for the city’s Learning Recovery Program.
A place where QCitizens may exchange their trash or recyclables for environmental points, which they can use to redeem goods such as canned goods, rice, and biscuits
- Organic Food Processor
An area in the QC Circularity Hub where QCitizens can bring their food waste to be processed by the food waste converter, which produces an organic, soil-like compost fertilizer.
- Rainwater Harvesting System
The system collects rainwater, which will be filtered and used to clean the vicinity and water the plants.
This initiative is part of the city’s sustainability efforts, promoting the 4Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recover.
In addition to the QC Circularity Hub, the city government has also started a clothing donation and redistribution initiative with RePorma and the QC Textile Circularity Hub located in Payatas.
The QC Circularity Hub is open from Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.
