The Quezon City Government, through the QC Market Development and Administration Department (MDAD) and in partnership with the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), has established the QC Vendors’ Business School.
The program aims to further empower and equip the city’s market vendors with knowledge on safe food handling, climate change, and sustainability. Participants also receive mentorship programs on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, customer service, and modern business management.
The Vendors’ Business School, institutionalized under City Ordinance (City Ordinance SP-3430, S-2025), is part of the city’s commitment to support QCitizen vendors by providing livelihood training, capacity building, and capital assistance.
Having been awarded the PHP 12 Million Gates Foundation grant, Quezon City is the only local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines implementing this type of program.
As of May 2026, 108 individuals have graduated from the program since 2024.
