The Quezon City Government, led by the Gender and Development (GAD) Council and the Public Affairs and Information Services Department (PAISD), has organized the “Tekkinanay: Digital Literacy for the Modern Nanay” training, primarily supporting mothers in the city and enhancing their digital skills.
Under the program, participants receive training in digital and media literacy, including basic internet skills, the use of digital tools, and understanding AI, which aims to help them become critical thinkers, analytical individuals, and responsible netizens.
This also enables them to stay informed about new technological advancements and effectively use these tools in their everyday lives and work.
The program is part of the city’s digital literacy initiatives as one of the pilot media and information literacy cities of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
As of March 2026, the program has trained 981 participants since 2021.
