The Local Government of Quezon City, through the QC Kabahagi Center for Children with Disabilities, has launched the TheraFREE and Flexicoaching Program, which provide Occupational, Physical, and Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Caregiver Coaching programs for Children with Disabilities (CWDs) and their parents.
Under the Flexicoaching Program, the parents and caregivers undergo a 10-session coaching program, which can be held face-to-face, online, or asynchronously via group chat.
With this new approach, the participants learn simple therapeutic strategies, techniques, and interventions for their children that they can continue doing at home. This also allows the parents and caregivers to guide their children during therapy as the therapist gives feedback.
CWDs, along with their parents or siblings, may also receive free therapy from the QC Kabahagi Center with its TheraFREE. In cooperation with the UP College of Allied Medical Professions Alumni Association and other volunteers, TheraFREE intends to give home instruction programs for children to prevent developmental delays while waiting for their 10-session Flexicoaching Program.
As of August 2025, 6,377 therapy packages have been provided by Kabahagi’s licensed occupational, physical and speech, and language therapists.
82% of the individualized goals for the children have also been reached with the therapy sessions, proving the effectiveness of the program.
