BRIEF HISTORY

Joseph P. Juico is a three-term City Councilor of the Quezon City Local Government, from 2004 to 2013. He sponsored legislative measures to alleviate poverty and empower the marginalized, assisting the cooperative sector. He is the author of the controversial Quezon City Reproductive Health and Population Management Ordinance, which institutionalized funding access to age-appropriate family planning methods and was the benchmark for the passage of the RH Bill signed into law on December 21, 2012.

After being a City Councilor, he was appointed as the Assistant Secretary in the Office of the President and became the Lead Coordinator for the Local Government Support for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). In October 2015, he was appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

Councilor Juico was Head of the Investment Affairs of the Office of the Quezon City Local Government.  During the pandemic, he led Quezon City Taskforce COVID-19, serving at the forefront of all the COVID-19 components and efforts of the Quezon City Government including Community Based-Testing, HOPE Care Community Facilities, Health Care Worker’s Shelter, and many more.
