Thirty-three (33) awardees from barangays, schools, hospitals, businesses, Sangguniang Kabataan, and youth based organizations, were recognized in the 2024 Quezon City Green Awards.
From cultivating urban farms to fostering community resilience, this year’s awardees showcased how multi-sectoral and whole-of-city approach plays a crucial role in mitigating and adapting to the inevitable effects of the climate crisis.
“Ang partisipasyon ng barangays, businesses, schools, hospitals, youth groups, at Sangguniang Kabataan sa QC Green Awards ay patunay na bawat indibidwal at institusyon ay may kakayahang lumikha ng makabuluhang pagbabago. Sa mga programang nakatuon sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan at kahandaan sa sakuna, ipinapakita ninyo na ang bawat aksyon ay nagdudulot ng malaking epekto sa inyong komunidad, sa ating lungsod, at sa ating planeta,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
The Green Award recognizes institutions that have made significant contribution in addressing climate change and advancing sustainable practices. This year’s Green awardees are the following:

The Resilience Category, on the other hand, honors initiatives that demonstrate resiliency, preparedness, and response in the face of natural or man-made disasters. These are the recipients of the resilience award:

They each received cash grants that they can use for their green and resilient program implementation and development. They underwent an extensive verification and assessment process led by the QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) and Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD), with support from other city government offices and agencies comprising the award’s technical working group.
A total of 160 entries from barangays, Sangguniang Kabataan, youth organizations, businesses, hospitals, and schools submitted their entries in the Quezon City Green Awards.
“Asahan ninyo na ang Quezon City ay nananatiling matatag sa aming pangako na makipagtulungan sa inyong lahat. Sama-sama nating ipagpatuloy ang pagbuo ng isang lungsod na hindi lamang matatag at sustainable kundi nagsisilbing inspirasyon para sa iba na naghahangad ng mas handa at luntiang hinaharap,” the mayor added.
Launched in 2023, the Quezon City Green Awards recognizes and incentivizes stakeholders that implement outstanding and inclusive programs on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Action.
