Business owners in Quezon City will now be issued an electronic copy of their business permit once their application for renewal or new permit has been approved via the QC E-Services online portal.

Margie Santos, head of the Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD), said the electronic or e-copy will be honored and can be used in lieu of the original or printed copy of the permit.

“Business establishments can use the e-copy while their original or authenticated copy is yet to be released,” said Santos.

Santos encouraged businesses to use the portal for this reason which she described as more convenient.

She added that filing an application online should be explored while the in-person appointment system for the releasing of business permits is being rebooted.

The BPLD will reboot its appointment schedules for releasing of business permit on February 28 cancelling all pre-booked appointment slots. This is after the department found out that a group of individuals have secured thousands of appointment slots without definite transactions, leaving no chance for other business owners to secure a slot for themselves.

“By March 1, our system will allow the use of an email address only once at a time. And if the user of the said email address failed to show up on his/her date of appointment thrice, then that email address will be blocked,” Santos said.
