The Quezon City government will open around 37,000 online slots for QCitizens who have yet to receive their first dose of COVID vaccine during its one-day vaccination drive on Thursday, September 23.

Online booking will start at exactly 6:00 am on Tuesday, September 21, under the QC Vax Easy Plus system where residents and workers now have the option to select the vaccination time and venue convenient to them, pending vaccine availability.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said the system is an upgrade that enables citizens to quickly book their preferred COVID-19 vaccination appointments amid the rise in new cases.

“We hope that through this modification, we can reduce the number of defaulters or individuals who have been given slots by the city but don’t show up at the site because the time and date assigned to them doesn’t suit their schedule,” said Belmonte.

“We must remember that our vaccines are sensitive. All allocated vaccines for the day must be used up so their integrity is not compromised by having to transport them back to the cold storage facility, then later to the site again,” she added.

Individuals who are interested to sign up for the city’s vaccination program are encouraged to do so via https://qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph/qcvaxeasy.

Registrants have two options of accessing the platform: either by creating a QC E-Services account using a valid e-mail address or existing Google, Facebook, or Apple account or by continuing without an account as a guest.

City Administrator Mike Alimurung said the guest user option is intended for individuals who don’t want to go through the process of creating an account.

“But having an account under the E-Services portal will be useful in the future, especially as we are in the process of migrating our transactions online,” advised Alimurung.

To date, the city government has administered around three million doses of vaccines for both first and second doses.
