The Quezon City Government has started to distribute additional laptops for public school teachers and child development workers to help address their teaching needs.

Earlier, Mayor Joy Belmonte led the ceremonial turnover of the additional 1,000 laptops for public elementary and high school teachers, and 50 laptops for child development workers in public daycare centers.

“Sa Quezon City, pinapahalagahan natin ang edukasyon kaya patuloy ang ating pagsuporta sa mga paaralan mula sa mga mag-aaral hanggang sa mga guro. Nakikipag-ugnayan din tayo sa SDO at SSDD para masiguro natin na sapat ang suporta na ibinibigay natin sa kanila,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

The laptops are on top of the 5,593 devices that the city had already distributed previously.

Aside from laptops, the city also provides teachers with free internet connectivity as well as monthly and quarterly allowances.

Schools also received service vehicles from the local government that they can utilize for their activities and programs.

Further, the QC Government has strengthened the capability of daycare centers by providing 96,440 storybooks to pupils, as well as school supplies, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and food packs. Handang Magbasa Manuals were also given to parents and child development workers.

Since the resumption of classes last August 22, the city government has been distributing school supplies to over 450,000 students, including SPED students.

Tablets have also been provided to Grades 4 to 12 students in public schools; 710,371 learning kits, 6,875,846 modules, and 430,438 hygiene kits have also been distributed to all public school learners in the past three years.
