Chickenpox is a contagious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which usually lasts 4 to 7 days. It manifests through rashes and wounds with fluid leaking out. Children are the ones commonly affected by this.
HOW IS CHICKENPOX TRANSMITTED:
- Respiratory Droplets
- Air
- Direct Contact
SYMPTOMS OF CHICKENPOX:
- Rashes and wounds first appear on the chest, back, and the face
- Fever
- Redness and itchy patches, which later becomes vesicles during the third and fourth day of fever
- Lethargy
- Muscle and joint pain
WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE CHICKENPOX:
- Rashes usually disappear within 2 weeks even without medication.
- Stay and rest inside the house. Avoid going to school or work for faster recovery and to prevent the spread of disease.
- Consult a doctor.
