The Quezon City government, Pride PH Coalition, and the University of the Philippines-Diliman have formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to co-organize the 2025 edition of Lov3Laban: Pride PH Festival as part of the Pride Month 2025 celebration.

Under the partnership, they pledged to collaborate on staging a series of events for the Pride Festival, dubbed “Lovelaban sa Diliman,” on June 28 at UP Diliman, featuring a Pride Expo, Pride March, Pride Night, and Pride Villages spread across Quezon City—offering safer environments, greater visibility, and more diverse programming.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the partnership underscores the city’s long-standing commitment to inclusivity, noting that this marks the fourth year of collaboration with the Pride PH Coalition.

“For years, QC has stood as a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community—not merely in words but through concrete policies and programs that truly champion gender equality. We are happy to host this festival once again as a testament to our support for the community’s fight for equal rights and celebration of their love and identities,” Belmonte said.

“We vow to the rainbow community that the Quezon City Government will continue to advance inclusive initiatives and promote equal opportunities for as long as inequality exists and members of the community continue to face barriers in living freely,” she added.

“We welcome Pride PH and the entire LGBTQIA + community to our campus. UP has always been a safe space for queer students and allies,” said UP Chancellor Atty. Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II.

“As an Iska, or scholar ng bayan, I’m proud to go back to my roots as we mount the biggest Pride in Asia. With everything that’s happening globally—the attack on the movement—it is only fitting to do it in UP, also the home of the oldest and first LGBTQIA+ student organization in the Philippines, UP Babaylan. It’s a beautiful full-circle moment for many of us,” says Rodina Singh, National Convener of Pride PH Coalition.

The Quezon City government is all hands on deck to deliver necessary services to ensure the safety and security of all participants throughout the entire event. In partnership with UP’s internal security teams, the city government will deploy security personnel, traffic enforcers, and emergency response units to manage crowd flow, maintain peace and order, and respond swiftly to any incidents or emergencies.

National Convener Vince Liban underscores this: “We learned a lot from last year, and we continue to learn every year. This year’s Pride celebration will prioritize safety and inclusive spaces for all identities—with visible security, mental health support, and a culture of respect at its core.”

Sky Teotico, the newest convener, adds, “Safer, Bolder, Bigger. 2025 will be the year when we take the LoveLaban Pride PH Festival to the next level—with more Queer Joy, Love, and Laban than ever before.”

A key message of the festival remains the urgent need for a national law to protect persons of diverse SOGIESC. The call for equality and the passage of the #SOGIEEqualityBill will be emphasized throughout the event, highlighting the growing strength and determination of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“Now more than ever, we need louder voices and bolder acts of resistance. The Pride movement is under attack around the world—and here in the Philippines, the continued failure to pass the SOGIE Equality Bill, the longest-running bill in our legislative history, is a clear sign that the fight is far from over,” added Angel Romero, National Convener.
