QC Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) Head Margie Mejia was recently invited by the City of Barcelona and Fira Barcelona to speak at the prestigious Smart City Expo World Congress.
Her presentation, titled “From Lines to Online: Transforming Quezon City’s Business Permitting Process Through Tech-Forward Solutions,” highlighted Quezon City’s innovative approach to streamlining business permit processing through technology.
Ms. Mejia detailed how initiatives like QC Biz Easy: Online Business Permit Application System and other digital solutions have significantly reduced red tape and curbed corruption.
Her talk emphasized the positive economic impact these advancements have had on Quezon City, showcasing it as a model for other cities seeking to enhance efficiency and transparency.
The session, “Tech-forward Solutions for Future-Ready Cities,” was chaired by Lucía Bellocchio, founder and executive director of Trend Smart Cities, and featured prominent business leaders and experts from around the world.
