
The Quezon City Government proudly announces the successful conclusion of the application period for the StartUp QC Business Plan Competition. This pioneering local government-led initiative underscores the city’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among the youth.
A resounding response saw 82 teams of students from 23 educational institutions comprising esteemed universities, colleges, and senior high schools both within and beyond Quezon City. This robust engagement highlights the program’s established appeal to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The next phase of the competition involves a meticulous screening and evaluation process to identify a select group of finalists who will embark on a cadetship, refining their entrepreneurial skills under the guidance of industry experts.
Set to kick off this month, the StartUp QC Business Plan Competition further solidifies Quezon City’s position as the innovation capital of the Philippines as it nurtures and propels the aspirations of young entrepreneurs.
Celebrating the 85th founding anniversary of the city, StartUp QC flares up the city’s commitment to progress and innovation, where student winners have the chance to secure prizes of up to Php 100,000.
The synergies among the academe, the private sector, and the Quezon City Government is evident in the shared vision of propelling the local startup ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of youth participation in the future of socially relevant innovations, and developing economic growth through innovation.
As the main driving force behind this initiative, Mayor Joy Belmonte said “It is important to maximize the potential youth and prepare them to be the future business movers and shakers that create world-class products and services.”
