DOST’s STEM-Connect Provides Platform for Young Innovators
DOST-NCR hosted young innovators at a forum called “STEM-Connect: Bridging STI Synergies for the Innovators of Tomorrow” during its 2024 Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) in NCR, held last October 31, 2024 at the Amoranto Arena, Quezon City.
STEM-Connect offered a vibrant platform for the youth to explore the future of science, technology, and innovation in the Philippines. The event featured a lineup of thought-provoking topics, including “Vision 2040: Navigating the Frontier of Science, Technology, and AI” and “Will AI Invade the World of Science and Technology?” A plenary session on “Green Futures” highlighted the work of young innovators and Balik Scientists , highlighting the importance of advancing eco-friendly practices. Meanwhile, the session on “Youth Technopreneurs” presented in a TED Talk-style format, showcased inspiring stories from young achievers who are making a difference in the fields of STI, illustrating their roles in shaping the nation’s future through entrepreneurial ventures.
STEM Connect featured the following resource persons: Dr. Argel Bandala, NAST Academician; Dr. Ramuel John Tamargo, Head, Advanced Materials and Organic Synthesis Laboratory- University of the Philippines, Diliman; Mr. Jeremy De Leon Innovator, Make-roscope Keychain; Ms. Fatima A.
